Course Content

Welcome
Two minutes to know what to expect.

Module 1 – Discover Your Professional Profile
Soon, you will take the next step into professional midwifery practice. Every transition is different. You may already have clear plans for your future—or you may still be exploring your options. This module invites you to pause and reflect before moving forward. Together, we will explore: What competencies have I already developed? Which learning experiences have shaped me? What kind of midwife am I becoming? By the end of this module, you will have created your first Professional Snapshot—a summary of your strengths, experiences, and professional profile.

Module 2
By the end of this module, you will be able to: Describe the different career pathways open to midwives - in Germany and internationally Compare these pathways in terms of working hours and salary structures, and use that comparison to clarify what matters more to you Identify which competencies are called for in which setting Put together an overview of the field: a collection of job portals and platforms where you can browse vacancies, get career advice, and apply once you've found the direction that suits you That overview is what this module leaves you with - something you'll keep coming back to long after the course ends.

Module 3 – Know Your Reader, Tell Your Story
You reflected on what you bring in Module 1. You explored where that might lead in Module 2. This module has two parts. A lot of career advice promises one perfect formula for a winning application. Much of it is marketing rather than research, and following it too closely can leave you feeling less sure of yourself, not more. In this module, we point you to guidance that is actually backed by solid sources, and help you build your application around something no template can offer: your own real experience. First, you will think about what an employer might actually be looking for. Then, you will put into words who you are and what you can do, in a way that fits what you just learned. By the end of this module, you will have at least one sentence about yourself that you can genuinely use in a CV or cover letter. Tip: keep your Module 1 Professional Snapshot open in another tab while you work through this module.
