Independent Quality Controller

The Independent Quality Controller ensures that the project is delivered to the highest standards. This role provides an external, unbiased view on the quality of project activities, outputs, and management processes. The Quality Controller monitors progress, reviews the consistency of deliverables, and verifies compliance with the approved project plan and Erasmus+ requirements.

Throughout the project, the Independent Quality Controller conducts periodic evaluations, identifies risks or deviations, and offers constructive recommendations for improvement. By delivering structured review reports—typically at mid‑term and at the end of the project—the Quality Controller supports transparency, strengthens accountability, and helps the consortium maintain a high level of quality across all work packages.

Elena Petelos

Elena Petelos is a Senior Research Fellow in Public Health and Lecturer in Evidence-Based Medicine and Policy at the University of Crete and Maastricht University. Trained in medicine and biology, with expertise in molecular oncology, health economics, and policy, she holds leadership and advisory roles across major European public health, regulatory, and HTA bodies, including EUPHA, HTAi, EMA, and the European Commission. Her work focuses on global health collaboration, regulatory and legal frameworks, real-world evidence, artificial intelligence, digital equity, and universal health coverage.

Work Package Overview​

The independent Quality Controller, Elena Petelos, will conduct periodic assessments throughout the project. She will deliver a mid‑term review report at the project’s halfway point and a final report upon completion. These reports will present key findings, recommendations, and an evaluation of the project’s adherence to planned activities, deliverables, and financial accountability.
